Medium Voltage (MV) Switchgear Products

Overview

Medium Voltage (MV) switchgear products are essential equipment used for controlling the transfer of electrical energy between points. They operate at voltage levels up to 36 kV and play a crucial role in ensuring energy supply security and quality. These products are designed based on the specific electrical requirements at the relevant points in the network, considering factors such as the value and direction of the power to be transferred and the short-circuit current that may pass through that point in case of a fault in the network. They incorporate components like circuit breakers, disconnectors, current transformers, and are installed in substations constructed at the energy transfer points or in prefabricated concrete and metal kiosks.

Main Features

  • Gas or air insulated switchgears are manufactured in accordance with the IEC 62271-200 basic standard for medium voltage switchgears from 1 to 52 kV and other sub-standards for switchgear (IEC 62271-100, IEC 62271-102, IEC 62271-105 and others).
  • The MV switching products manufactured by EKOS Electric are used both in the main backbone of the MV network (Primary MV distribution network), where the transferred energy values are larger, and in the branches of the MV network (Secondary MV distribution network), where these values are smaller and where the last transformers reaching the final consumers are located.
  • Ekos Electric’s product portfolio includes metal enclosed switchgears and components (breakers, load breakers, earthing disconnectors) designed for use in both Primary and Secondary MV networks using gas and air insulation technologies.
